Talorus reviews Earth & Beyond (PC)

The first MMO space base game created by Westwood Studios. It consists of three empires(the Terran, Jenquai and Progen) and three careers(Explorer, Trader and Warrior) to choose from.

The Terrans and Jenquai are descended from humans while the Progen are genetically-altered humans. The Terrans were good at trading, the Jenquai were the explorers and the Progen were the warriors. Each group would get bonuses for what the were best at. For example, the Terrans could make more profit from selling items and cargo capacity, the Jenquai had the fastest engines and ships and the Progen had the toughest ships and less cargo room.

One of the best feature in the game was the crafting system. You could make anything if you could analyze an item and learn the schematics. If you stared playing the game early on, and you learned schematics from items that was later no longer available in the game, you could still make them and sell them. This system was similar to what was later put into Star Wars Galaxies.
